AN emergency meeting was held by Royal Wootton Bassett Town Council Tuesday evening.
A motion to promote social distancing was proposed by councillor Paul Heaphy and Steve Bucknell who wanted to discuss putting a five-point action plan in place
The councillors discussed whether to reinforce the 2 metre distance at the High Street.
If people should be encouraged to plan their shopping trip to avoid busy areas and times.
And removal of parking charges in Borough Fields Car Park along with relocating the taxi rank.
Councillor Paul Heaphy said: "We are considering whether we should do anything to help protect our community, we came up with a number of suggestions and a couple of councillors stepped forward to help with the process.
"I think that we just need to get the ball rolling on this."
After much debate the council has organised a working party to come up with an official plan they can bring to the next full council meeting.
The next council meeting will be on July 9 at 7pm.
