A school cleaner who has kept Hilmarton primary school spic and span for decades has retired.
Molly Jacomb, now 83, has spent a lifetime connected to the village school in one way or another.
She was herself a pupil, starting aged five in 1942.
She stayed close to the school after leaving, working as a cleaner as well as a teaching assistant.
Children at the school had a collection to raise money to buy her vouchers to spend in her beloved garden, and made her leaving cards which they presented to her at her home.
Head teacher Sam Churchill said Molly would be very missed. "She always had a cheery hello for everyone and we all got a cup of tea too.
"She still lives in the village and has probably seen most of the children in the village grow up over the years. Everyone knows her""
We all wish her the very best for the future."
Thrilled with her gift and cards, Molly said: "It's so lovely to see what the children have made me."
