CASH and jewellery was stolen during a burglary in West Ashton after thieves smashed a door at the rear.

A property in Bratton Road was raided between 10.30am and 1.40pm last Friday.

The offender or offenders gained entry by smashing a rear conservatory door and then stolen a quantity of cash and valuable jewellery.

Now police are appealing for witnesses to the burglary.

PC Ashton Schorah, from the Trowbridge Area Community Policing Team, said: "We have carried out a number of enquiries, including forensics at the scene and speaking to neighbours who live close by.

"We now want to hear from anyone who might have been in the area on Friday and perhaps saw something suspicious - either a person or people acting unusually or a vehicle which looked out of place.

"If you saw something or you have private CCTV or dash cam footage which could assist our enquiries then please get in touch."
