Charity Julia's House, which runs a children's hospice in Devizes, has encouraged people to join in a festive virtual Christmas concert.

The event is in lieu of the popular carol services held by the charity that are unable to go ahead this year due to the pandemic.

Julia’s House Christmas Cracker, sponsored by Addo Food Group, will feature live music, comedy sketches, Christmas readings presented by various famous faces including singer James McVey and actress Debra Stephenson.

The event is free, although people will have the opportunity to bring some Christmas cheer to the children and families supported by Julia’s House by donating live.

Search Julia's house Christmas Cracker on Facebook to sign up for the free event.

The fundraiser will take place on Wednesday December 2 2020 at 7.30pm.

Julia's House is named after the late Julia Perks, a dedicated paediatric nurse whose dream was to develop a support network for families struggling to care for a life-limited child. Her friend Mike Wise and has helped make her dream a reality.

In 2013, the charity launched a small home-based care service for families in south Wiltshire and in May 2017 the doors of the new Julia’s House Devizes children's hospice opened.
