Troops of elves have stationed themselves in windows across Chippenham as part of a festive-themed fundraiser for Redland School.

The new Redland Elf Hunt, that runs until December 14, has encouraged families to download a map and try to spot elves dotted across the community and note down which Christmas-related item they're holding onto.

A total of 35 elves are included on the walking trail and prizes for winning entries include a hamper full with Christmas treats and voucher for pottery studio Glazed.

The Elf Hunt is part of a wider fundraiser by the Friends of Redland School to collect funds for a new sports kits for when Redland teams represent the school at the many sports tournaments in the area.

Lisa Pullin, part of the Friends of Redland School group, said the fundraiser had already been a huge success.

She said: "Normally we would have a Christmas fair but we of course couldn't go ahead with that because of lockdown.

"One of the mum's had an idea for an elf hunt and we went from there, and it was slightly pushed back to start after lockdown..

"People seem to have really enjoyed getting involved so far and a lot of houses have got involved, there are elves everywhere!

"We've asked for a minimum donation of £2 on our JustGiving page, but you can easily give more or less depending on your financial situation. We know this is a very difficult time financially for lots of people."

If you would like the Friends of Redland School to send over a copy of the digital map, then email forsevents@outlook.com

Once you have completed the trail, reply with a picture of your answer sheet by December 15 and two entries with all correct answers will be picked at random.

People taking part in the Redland Elf Hunt are reminded to adhere to the government's current social distancing guidelines.
