THREE more companies have been fined by a court for breaching the 18-tonne weight restriction on Bradford on Avon's ancient town bridge.
A vehicle owned by Iain D Smith Transport Ltd was seen crossing the bridge by Terry Brown on December 18 2019.
Mr Brown also saw a vehicle belonging to Plant Speed Ltd using the bridge on December 13 2019, while John Potter watched as a vehicle owned by Arthur Brothers Haulage Ltd crossed the bridge on September 23 2019.
Iain D Smith Transport Ltd was found guilty and fined £1,000 and told to pay a £100 victim surcharge and £200 costs after the case was heard in their absence.
Neither a representative of the company or their solicitors attended or corresponded with the court.
Plant Speed Ltd pleaded guilty by post and was fined £700 and told to pay a £70 victim surcharge and £200 costs.
Arthur Brothers Haulage Ltd was found guilty after the case was heard in the firm's absence and fined £1,000 and told to pay a £100 victim surcharge and £200 costs.
