FORMER Spandau Ballet bass guitarist and Eastenders actor Martin Kemp is coming to Trowbridge.

He will be bringing his Back To The 80s Party to Trowbridge Civic Centre on Friday, November 12, from 7.30pm.

He is one of the first top names to announce a gig at the town’s Civic Centre post-lockdown.

Currently, the centre is hosting mainly NHS blood donor sessions.

Tickets go on sale from 6pm tomorrow (Friday, April 16).

The actor, musician, producer and DJ will be taking to the decks, spinning all the best of the hits from the 80s and presenting one of the biggest 80s nights to land in Wiltshire this year.

Leander Morales, of GM3 Music Ltd in Westbury, said: “This 80s night is selling out across the UK.

“If you've been to Martin Kemp's Back To The 80s party, you'll know why this show is so popular.”

Mr Kemp, 59, will be supported by local DJs, including Wiltshire’s Riky G and Hit Or Miss from Frome.

Spandau Ballet sold millions of records worldwide and Martin Kemp is a huge TV personality.

He starred in the likes of The Krays and Eastenders alongside his role in new wave group Spandau Ballet.

He also appeared in London's West End in the hit musical Chicago whilst still finding time to appear in Channel 4’s Celebrity Island with Bear Grylls, and more recently on Celebrity Gogglebox with his son Roman Kemp.

The night also features special guest 80s/90s revival DJ Riky G, who has supported Martin Kemp on a number of occasions, bringing his own collection of 80s club and pop classics to the party.

Riky's 80s/90s revival DJ set has been a huge hit over the past year, picking up thousands of viewers through weekly live streams.

He is a resident DJ on BBC Radio Wiltshire, Trowbridge Civic Centre and many other venues across the UK.

Also included in the event are Somerset’s Hit Or Miss DJs, the self-proclaimed ultimate party starters.

They have been playing up and down the country with Martin Kemp over the past year, warming up the sold-out crowds.

Their high-octane DJ sets feature classic 80s tracks and a few curve balls thrown in for good measure.

Hit Or Miss have also supported modern-day rock icon Frank Turner while dressed up as Pokemon and played a Star Wars Party with Goldie Lookin' Chain.

They have worked on gigs alongside Fatboy Slim, Happy Mondays, S Club, 5ive, Scouting For Girls, East 17, Howard Donald of Take That, Aston Merrygold from JLS and Martin Kemp.

Early-bird tickets are £18 (Early Bird advance) and £20 (Standard advance). Doors open from 7.30pm - 11pm.
