A man wanted by Wiltshire Police was arrested less than three and a half hours after a public appeal to help locate him.

Jason Williams, 35, from Warminster, was arrested on Tuesday and taken into custody following a public appeal.

Police had issued an appeal at 1.17pm for the public’s help to locate him. They later announced his arrest at 3.34pm.

Mr Williams was wanted in connection with an incident of actual bodily harm and criminal damage.

He was believed to have been in the Warminster area.

A police spokeswoman said: “Thank you to everyone who shared our earlier appeal about Jason Williams, from Warminster, who was wanted.

"We can confirm that he has now been arrested and is currently in police custody."
