Police in Wiltshire are reviewing footage of an off-duty officer detaining a boy.
A statement was issued after a video was shared on social media and a member of the public complained about the incident on Saturday in Melksham.
A Wilthire Police spokesman said: "We are aware of a video circulating on social media which shows an off-duty Wiltshire Police officer detaining a young male in Melksham on Saturday (June 19).
"No arrests have been made as a result of this incident.
"We can confirm we have received a complaint regarding this matter from a member of the public and our enquiries into this incident are ongoing.
"Those directly involved with the incident are being kept updated as to these enquiries.
"An IOPC referral has been made and as such, it would be inappropriate for us to comment further at this time."
There is, as yet, no update on this referral.
