TWO landowners in Trowbridge have each been told to pay £1,756.50 by a court in Salisbury after pleading guilty to breaching two enforcement notices.

The court was told that Nicholas Paul Bennett, 54, and his wife Alison Jean Bennett, stored scrap metal, building waste, vehicles, plant and machinery and other materials on their land at Frome Road in Southwick.

The couple, of Silver Birch Grove, Trowbridge, each pleaded guilty to two charges of breaching two enforcement notices issued by Wiltshire Council on August 9, 2016 and June 19, 2019.

The court was told the enforcement notices came into effect on September 9, 2016 and on July 19, 2019 respectively but the couple failed to comply.

They were each fined £900, ordered to pay a victim services surcharge of £90 and costs of £766.50.

A collection order was made by South East Wiltshire magistrates on July 15.
