POLICE are treating the discovery of a man's body at a popular Wiltshire beauty spot as non-suspicious.
Officers were called out to Shearwater Lake in Crockerton at around 10.30am on Thursday, September 23 after the body was discovered by a worker at the tea rooms.
Following the discovery, crews from all three emergency services responded.
Police said: "Shortly before 10.30am yesterday (23/09) we attended to support colleagues from South Western Ambulance and Dorset and Wiltshire Fire Service who were responding to reports of a deceased person at Shearwater Lake.
“Sadly this appears to be a non-suspicious death of an adult male.
“His next of kin have been informed and our thoughts are with his family at this difficult time.”
Officers taped off an area near The Boathouse for more than two hours while an investigation took place.
Police did not reveal the man's name. The Wiltshire Coroner has been informed.
