A member of staff at the Wiltshire Heights care home in Bradford on Avon has raised more than £1,000 for Alzheimer’s Society.

Jaspreet Kaur, the client services manager at the home in Cottle Avenue, completed a five kilometre memory walk in Bristol to raise the cash and smashed her £640 target.

The walk started from Bristol’s historic harbourside, to the S.S. Great Britain, Cumberland Basin and finishing across Pero’s Bridge.

Miss Kaur completed the event with her fiancée, brother, sister and dogs. She said: “The target was £640 but we achieved £1,000.

“The team had full support of Wiltshire Heights along with all of the residents, staff, the Dementia Action Alliance and many more.”

The Memory Walk is an annual event organised by Alzheimer's Society to raise awareness of and funds for the charity.
