Two men have appeared in court charged in connection with a serious assault in Southwick.
Michael McDonagh, 32, of Henleaze Road, Bristol, has been charged with attempted murder, possession of an offensive weapon, and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
A second man, John McDonagh, 21, of Shortwood Road, Pucklechurch, has been charged with the same offences.
The pair appeared at Bristol Crown Court on Monday and have pleaded not guilty.
A provisional trial date has been set for March.
Police said a third man, aged 29, has also been arrested as part of the investigation and has been released on bail while inquiries continue.
This investigation relates to a serious assault at Southwick Sports and Social Club on the evening of 29 September.The victim, a man in his 30s, has been released from hospital.
