“No reason for alarm” - police
Armed police descended on the centre of Bradford-on-Avon late this afternoon, but Wiltshire Police assured the public that there was no reason to be alarmed.
A spokesman said: “Officers, including armed police, attended Bradford-on-Avon as part of ongoing enquiries to arrest an outstanding suspect.
“A 54-year-old man from Liverpool was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and possession of a bladed article and is currently in police custody.
“Please be reassured that there is no reason for the local community to be unduly concerned.”
