FOUR daredevils from Selwood Housing have undertaken a dramatic sky dive from 15,000 feet to support the We Hear You Cancer counselling charity that operates in Wiltshire and Somerset.

Staff at Selwood, the Trowbridge-based local housing association, choose a different charity to support each year, raising money through a variety of activities from bake sales to pub quizzes.

WHY was selected for the vital work they do providing free therapeutic support to children, families and individuals affected by cancer and other life-threatening conditions.

Frances Geary, Kasia Glossop, Laurie Owen and Sarah Johnson all jumped at the chance to do something a bit different and had been planning their adventure at Go Skydive in Old Sarum Park in Salisbury since last September.

Following several postponements due to poor weather they finally made it up in the air on Friday, April 8.

Neighbourhood manager Sarah Johnson said: “It was worth the wait in the end. I felt a bit sick afterwards, but the freefall was amazing!”

Lettings supervisor Laurie Owen added: “Everyone is affected by cancer in one way or another, so we’re really pleased to be able to support such a great cause.”

The team has raised more than £2,000 for We Hear You. If you can help to support them please go to www.justgiving.com/fundraising/selwood-skydive.
