POLICE today appealed for witnesses to a serious road traffic collision in Chippenham which resulted in a driver being airlifted to hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries.
The collision involving two cars in Hungerdown Lane, Chippenham, happened shortly before 11am today (18/05). A black Ford Fiesta was in collision with a red Volkswagen Up.
The driver of one of the cars, a man in his 70s, was airlifted from the scene with potentially life threatening injuries. The driver of the other vehicle received minor injuries.
Hungerdown Lane is likely to be closed for a number of hours, from the junction with Ladyfield Road to the roundabout Junction with Bath Road.
A police spokesman said: “If you saw what took place or have access to CCTV or dashcam footage of the incident we would like to hear from you as a matter of urgency.”
