JK Rowling is the latest famous name to hit out at the MP for Devizes, Danny Kruger, for his opinions on abortion.

The Conservative MP said in the House of Commons yesterday that he does not believe women have an "absolute right to bodily autonomy."

JK Rowling hit back at the MP on Twitter, saying: "More proof, as though it were needed, that women's rights are under attack across the developed world #RoeVsWade", in response to a video of him talking.

The author posted the tweet at 7:16pm last night and it has already sparked a high level of engagement.

It has been 'liked' over 16.6k times and been retweeted over 2,600 times by her followers.

Mrs Rowling isn't the only celebrity to react the controversial comments from Mr Kruger.

Author and journalist Caitlin Moran called on woman to "remember this man's name", before adding in another tweet: "I'll say this once again - it would be far more logical & effective to give all teenage boys a vasectomy, only reversed when they decide to have kids, than to curtail the right of women & girls - particularly those who have been raped - to decide whether or not to become mothers."
