Following the hottest night ever recorded in the UK- things are feeling extremely warm in Wiltshire today (19/07).
Some parts of the county are already experiencing temperatures as high as 35°C.
Here are the towns really feeling the heat this morning, according to the Met Office:
- Malmesbury: 35°C
- Marlborough: 35°C
- Chippenham: 35°C
- Swindon: 35°C
Things are a tiny bit cooler in other areas, but the county is still set to get hotter throughout the day.
This is how hot other towns are in Wiltshire right now:
- Trowbridge: 34°C
- Devizes: 34°C
- Salisbury: 33°C
- Calne: 33°C
- Warminster: 33°C
- Westbury: 33°C
The exceptional heat is expected to impact England throughout the day, says the Met Office- with temperatures potentially exceeding 40°C.
Met Office Chief Meteorologist Neil Armstrong said: “Even higher maximum temperatures will develop today with a 70% chance of somewhere in England exceeding 40°C.
"A value of this level would exceed the current UK record by 1.3°C or more. This is akin to a marathon runner shaving 20 minutes off of the current record."
