MONITORING of CCTV cameras in Warminster, Westbury and the West Wilts Trading Estate could be moved to a new control room.

Councillors in Warminster will be asked to approve the relocation of the CCTV Control Room to the town’s Community Hub building at their full council meeting on Monday (July 25).

The hub in the Central car park off Station Road has emerged as the preferred location of the new CCTV control room.

The councillors will also be asked to approve proposals to upgrade the CCTV Control Room and Cameras. Members have received confidential papers setting out the three quotes received and the consultant’s report.

They are being requested to proceed with the upgrade of the CCTV control, cameras and operating system and agree a £110,000 budget for the work.

The budget comprises of £73,794 from Community Infrastructure Levy funds with the balance of £36,206 to come from Earmarked Reserves Capital Projects.

The councillors will be asked to accept the tender from Company C subject to agreement from the other CCTV Partnership members, Westbury Town Council and the West Wilts Trading Estate.
