New businesses have been given a boost by the highly successful Trowbridge Weavers Market.

The Weavers Market organisers gave two free pitches to local Trowbridge businesses to help promote themselves.

They were taken by massage therapist Dee Field of Nature’s Sanctuary and Helen Ayres of Fabric Magic.

Market organiser Councillor Stewart Palmen said: “I didn't get to speak to Helen but Dee made a lot of connections with people who didn't know she existed.

"We were worried that we would have to call off the market because of the hot weather but it went on to 4pm.

“There was a new stall in a horsebox selling cold cider and champagne and they have booked up for the markets right up to Christmas.”

Once again, Fore Street and Emmanuel’s Yard were buzzing with visitors to the stalls selling a wide range of arts and craft goods, beauty products, toiletries, food and jewellery.

The attractions and entertainment included a belly dancing display by Wafaa Powell’s Dancing Flavours ladies troupe in Emmanuel’s Yard, a full programme of live music on the pop-up stage in Fore Street and circus skills with Annabelle Fox.

The market welcomes applications from independent traders to take stalls. To apply, go to trowbridgeweaversmarket.co.uk.
