IT’S a have a go show this year - a challenge for both growers and cooks - in Bradford on Avon

The Flower and Produce Show is a day when people of all ages come together in a spirit of friendly competition to demonstrate their horticultural, culinary, and artistic skills.

This year’s event on Sunday, September 4 encourages everyone to “have a go” - whether they are show veterans or first-time entrants.

This year, the town’s Ukrainian guests are being invited to show off their culinary and craft skills and enter the show, which is open to anyone living in Bradford on Avon.

Committee member and former mayor John Potter said: “I am told our show is rated as one of the best produce events around ‘a real community occasion’, and I am really looking forward to seeing our Ukrainian guests’ entries.”

The 91 classes feature everything from beetroot to bread rolls, compost to cross-stitch and show favourite, the most amusing vegetable.

Not to forget the biggest marrow, the largest cabbage, the longest runner bean, and the largest sunflower.

New categories include a themed class that involves picking two or more varieties of an orange-coloured flower arranged in a vase.

Entry forms from The Hub in Church Street, The BoA Tourist Information Centre, and the BoA Town Council offices.
