POLICE have arrested a man in his 20s on suspicion of aggravated burglary in relation to an incident in Trowbridge yesterday in which a man leapt for his life from a first floor window of a town centre flat.

At about 9.30am on Thursday (18/08) two men reportedly attempted to force entry to a property in Fore Street, Trowbridge, by kicking in the front door and one of them threatened the occupants with a knife.

One of the two men is now in police custody. Enquiries continue to locate the further suspect.

Police said yesterday that one of the suspects, who was carrying a knife, is described as a white male, about 6ft tall and has a slim build. He has dark hair. They were both wearing dark clothing.

It is understood that one of the occupants of the flat was injured after leaping from a window.

He managed to make it as far as the Trowbridge town park, where police and paramedics gave him assistance.

It is not known whether he was taken to the Royal United Hospital in Bath, or how badly he was injured.
