POLICE have been granted a closure order for a house in Wiltshire following reports of disorder and drug use.
The order, for a property in Park Road, Trowbridge, was granted on Thursday (March 2) at Swindon Magistrates’ Court.
It means nobody other than the residents can enter the property for a period of three months.
Anyone caught breaching the order will be committing a criminal offence and will be prosecuted.
The order was secured following concerns over the vulnerability of the occupant and reports of disorder linked to visitors at the address.
There are also concerns of drug use at the property.
PS Charly Chilton, of the Trowbridge Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “This order was necessary in order to protect the occupant, and to crack down on the use of drugs at the property.
“Hopefully the order will provide peace and respite for the occupant, and we won’t hesitate to enforce it and prosecute should we become aware that people are breaking it and visiting the address.”
