SCHOOLS and community groups in Trowbridge are being invited to help King Charles III and his Queen Consort Camilla celebrate their coronation at Westminster Abbey on Saturday, May 6.

They are being invited by The Big Community Grow and Trowbridge Town Council to submit designs for a planter that will be positioned on Fore Street as part of the coronation celebrations.

Cllr Mel Jacob said: “Your design should provide a floral display that will last from May to September 2023 and reflect King Charles’ love of gardening and the environment.

“We would like to bring Highgrove to the High Street in one container 1.5 metre square.”

Seven designs will be chosen to be planted up and be on display in Fore Street this summer.

Representatives of the winning groups should be available to support planting on Saturday, April 29 and/or Sunday, April 30.

“Judges will be looking for creative and attractive designs that embody the spirit of the Highgrove Estate and bring joy to visitors to the town,” Cllr Jacob added.

Please send your design, including a plant list, to Mel Jacob, c/o Civic Centre or email it to meljacob@bigcommunitygrow.org by April 14.

Please include the full name of your group, along with contact number and email address.
