Huge crowds turned out in Bradford on Avon for the town’s annual duck race this Easter Monday.
The yearly event was held at Westbury Garden where a large number of residents and visitors showed up to sponsor a duck in the race.
1,000 yellow ducks and 50 blue ducks were launched from the Town Bridge into the river to mark the start of both the duck race and the business duck race.
The first ever business duck race saw local businesses sponsoring the 50 blue ducks in an attempt to secure victory.
Interior specialists Dible & Roy claimed top spot, and a glass trophy, while the general duck race was won by Harlow Brown who took home ten free swimming lessons with Puddle Ducks.
Isabelle Coveney secured a duck feet photo frame by finishing second while Katherine Pitman was awarded a bird ornament for a third-place finish.
Councillor Katie Vigar, mayor of Bradford on Avon, said: “It was wonderful to see so many people at today’s duck race, one of our most popular community events.
“Residents and visitors alike seemed to be having a great time. We are now excited to look ahead to our Coronation events in May and our town music festival in June.”
Money raised from the duck race is put towards other town council community events.
