More than 300 dancers and over 100 musicians are expected to celebrate the arrival of summer at the Bradford on Avon Green Man Festival next month.

This year’s sixth annual festival will feature 36 dance groups and is likely to be one of the largest gatherings of its kind anywhere in this country this year.

Organiser Alfie Windsor said: “Our 10ft giant Jack in the Green leads the day with dancing at nine town centre locations.

“His partner Jill in the Green will be resurrecting a lost Wiltshire Garland Dance.

“We have a samba band, a Folk Club stage, choral and classical concerts in Holy Trinity Church, live music in pubs, a kids’ zone including a fun fair, an artisan market, community groups’ hub, a pagan arts and crafts market and more."

The family-friendly community event is free to attend and comprises traditional dance, music, song and folklore.

It is taking place across Bradford on Avon town centre on Saturday, May 13, from 9am-5pm.

Visitors are being encouraged to use public transport if they can but there will be a festival car and bike park near the Tithe Barn (BA15 1LF). The £5 cost per car all day includes a free programme.
