A new gallery is to open in Corsham to showcase the space that can be filled by local artists and craftspeople.
Gallery No.56 in the High Street is throwing a preview party on Thursday, June 1 from 2pm to 8pm for local artists to see what's on offer.
Katie Allenby-Smith, of Gallery No.56, said: “We are so excited to be able to open this new permanent gallery offering in Corsham.”
The new gallery has been created by local art, antiques dealer and interior designer Willow Bicknell.
It aims to showcase all forms of arts and crafts, including painting, photography, sculpture, glass, ceramics and textiles created by local artists and craftspeople.
“The gallery will host numerous exhibitions throughout the year and the artist preview party will be the perfect opportunity for artists to come together, see the space and explore the possibilities of holding individual or joint exhibitions,” Willow Bicknell said.
The gallery is being ‘test-driven’ by Corsham artist Rachel Heard, who is producing an exciting new piece specifically for the front window.
Rachel has a residency at Pound Arts in Corsham, where she is investigating the links between environment, creativity and wellbeing.
