WESTBURY: Five new houses are planned for Westbury on Penleigh Road.

The houses would be built on land around Penrose Cottage which is a two stroey house, surrounded by a large garden to the east and south and a paddock to the north.

A U-shaped arrangement of the homes is planned and each one would be two or 1.5 storeys in height.

Each house would have a driveway consisting of porous asphalt and brick setts.

There are 24 new trees planned too and around 380m of new hedgerows.

The proposed layout of each house includes separate kitchen and dining rooms and living rooms on the ground floor.

Upper floors would have bedrooms and each house would have their own private gardens.

The plans add: “Separation distance between the properties would ensure no harmful impacts in terms of daylight or sunlight, privacy or noise nuisance.”

MILTON LILBOURNE: A new lake is planned at Milton Lilbourne near Pewsey.

The lake will be in the grounds of Havering House to the south of the garden, and to the south of the existing formal garden ponds.

The site falls outside of the village Conservation Area, but Milton Lilbourne falls within the North Wessex Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The plans say: “The water level of the lake will be approximately 500mm below the existing ground level – the lake will be groundwater fed, and therefore the levels will seasonally fluctuate.

“This will provide feeding areas for birds as the levels change. The existing tree planting will not be affected by the proposal.”

And finally add: “This assessment concludes that the proposed lake will create an aquatic habitat which will likely result in biodiversity net gain.”

MILTON LILBOURNE: An old farm building near Milton Lilbourne may become a new one-bedroom, single-story house.

The building at Totteridge Farm House  with open plan kitchen/living area, a utility room and bathroom

The original building was constructed in the 1960s, and extended to its current footprint in the 1980s.

It was last used as a dairy in the early 1990s, and since then has been redundant and used for farm storage according to the planning application.

The proposal adds: “There are no plans to alter the current footprint of the building, other than to add an open, lean-to style porch with wooden support posts over the French doors on the north elevation, and a small weather porch over the door into the utility room on the west elevation.”

BAYDON: Two new wooden field shelters for horses are planned for land rear of 4 Walronds Close in Baydon.

The wider property consists 4 Walronds Close, gardens, stable yard with stables and circa 15 acres of grazing.

The site is designated as being in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The buildings will be used exclusively by the applicants for personal equestrian use at no time shall it be used for livery, or in connection with equestrian tuition or leisure rides.
