A PARACHUTE display organised for a Royal visit in Warminster on Saturday had to be called off amid safety concerns.
During checks of the landing area at about 3.30pm, the helicopter experienced a computer fault and had to make an emergency landing in the grounds of Longleat, where the Black Knights Royal Artillery Display Team were due to perform that evening.
Despite the initial problems the Safari Dinner, attended by Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, is estimated to have raised approximately £4,000 to £5,000.
The money will go to the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association, who organised the event.
