Some of British TV's best-known faces could be spotted on a high street in Wiltshire today.

Filming for a Disney+ adaptation of Jilly Cooper’s Rivals, starring David Tennant, Danny Dyer and Emily Atack, is set to take place on Corsham High Street on Monday (July 10).

The blockbuster eight-part series, based on the iconic 1980s novel, boasts an impressive cast which also includes Poldark’s Aidan Turner and Alex Hassell, who starred in His Dark Materials.

The action will take place between 8am and 7pm in the pedestrian area of the High Street and will cause some minor disruption to traffic on the surrounding roads, as well as some disruption to on-street parking.

Filming will include some scene setting shots of shops in the area, but no major scenes with a significant number of actors or stunts will take place.

Several properties will have their exteriors transformed as part of the shoot in order to fit in with the show’s 1980s setting.

Businesses will open as usual while a stop and go system will be in place on Station Road and Post Office Lane.

Corsham Town Council said: “The town council, and Wiltshire Council, have been working with Happy Prince, the ITV Company producing the series, to help make Monday’s filming go as well as possible, with the minimum disruption, and we are looking forward to seeing Corsham on screen again.”
