Three people wearing masks broke into a house and attacked the homeowner with a wooden plank.

The suspects stole the victim's car keys and their car in the incident, which police believe was a "targeted attack".

Wiltshire Police are appealing for information regarding a report of an aggravated burglary that took place at around 10.30am on Sunday, September 17.

The incident took place at Solstice Rise in Amesbury. Three men forced their way into the address and assaulted the homeowner before taking the car keys to a grey Peugeot 207 and driving off with it, officers said..

The vehicle has now been located in Salisbury and seized as part of the new investigation into the incident.

Det Sgt Darren Penny said: “We believe this was a targeted attack, however, it was extremely frightening for the victim.

“We believe the three suspects were wearing masks at the time and used a plank of wood to cause injury to the homeowner.

“Extensive enquiries are currently underway by the South Burglary Unit to identify those responsible and those living in Solstice Rise can expect to see an increased police activity in the area while officers conduct their investigation.”
