Trowbridge Repair Café has moved to a new location with the temporary closure of the historic Town Hall for renovation work.

Repair café coordinator Zoe Newing- Moore was on hand on Saturday to welcome customers to the autumn repair cafe in its new home in the Trowbridge Guide Hut at the entrance to the Town’s Park.

She said: “It’s a good location not far from where we used to operate. It’s a bit smaller working area but has an advantage it comes complete with a kitchen.”

The Trowbridge Repair Cafe’s aim is to repair everyday household items bringing them back into use and thus saving them from landfill and saving their owners the cost of buying new.

The Trowbridge Environmental Community repair café is run by a selection of highly skilled volunteer repairers who work professionally in repair work or have lots of experience in their speciality.

The service is free thanks to grants from Bath & West Community Energy Fund and Trowbridge Town Council which cover the costs or running the café.

The service will be holding its next winter session at the Trowbridge Guide Hut on Saturday, November 25, from 10am to 3pm.
