The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for rain across the whole of the south west.

The weather organisation has warned of 'occasionally heavy rain' on Thursday evening and throughout Friday.

The potentially problematic rainfall is expected to start at around 9pm on Thursday and could run through to 11.59pm on Friday.

The Met Office has warned members of the public in the area to expect "spray and flooding on roads probably making journey times longer", as well as delays to trains and buses.

It has also said that: "Flooding of a few homes and businesses is likely."

Many parts of Swindon and Wiltshire are still dealing with flooding that occurred in September, with locals picking up the pieces of their damaged homes and the town's biggest leisure centre - The Link Centre - has only just reopened parts of the building almost a month later.

The gym and fitness studies reopened to the public on October 11, but there will be a longer wait for the centre's other facilities.
