Police are appealing for witnesses after a delivery van with the keys left inside was stolen in Corsham.

The incident occurred at approximately 11.40am on Thursday, October 12 as a silver Vauxhall Vivaro with the registration LD05 NXR was parked on Newlands Road.

The keys were left inside whilst the driver made a delivery at a nearby block of flats but as the driver was inside the flats, a man approached the van.

This man then drove the van off in the direction of Corsham town centre and then towards the A4.

He has been described as a white man who is aged in his late 30s with a dark stubbly beard.

Reports say he was wearing a dark cap and black hoodie.

PC William Baker said: “I would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident, including anyone who was in the area who may have dash cam footage.

“We believe the vehicle may have been driven down Cross Keys Road or Newlands Road between 11.35am and 11.45am.

“If you were in the area, please review your dash cam footage as you may have captured an image of the suspect.”

Enquiries remain ongoing and police are urging anyone who can help to call 101 and quote crime reference number 54230108335.
