A Wiltshire fitness coach is in line for a national England Business Award but needs your votes to cross the finishing line and win it.

Andy Collins set up Try4Fitness in Melksham more than 20 years ago as a mobile personal trainer to help his clients achieve their fitness goals.

Andy, 51, of Cicley Grove, said: “I first started out in a van as a mobile personal trainer, training people from their homes with some basic equipment such as dumbbells, bands, and a balance board.

“I travelled around Trowbridge, Warminster, Bath, and surrounding areas which, although it was challenging, was the start of a journey that I can only look back on with some fondness.

“It gave me the experience and stepping stone I needed to reach the goals I have achieved to date, which was initially very hard travelling from one place to the other.

“In 2010, I began working closely with a local physiotherapy business at The Shires in Trowbridge and simultaneously set up my own personal training business aimed at supporting people struggling with long-term health conditions.

“This gave me an opportunity to enhance my experience and as a result, I was able to set up a back pain management class.

“At that time, I was also able to onboard and train several other personal trainers and to achieve my ultimate dream which was to establish my own studio – Try4Fitness, based at Marsh Farm in Hilperton.

“Over the years, I have worked hard to establish my brand, grow the business and expand its services and am proud to say that my own studio near the beautiful canal in Hilperton, Trowbridge, is a hive of health and fitness activity.

“I remain fully committed to providing unique health and wellness classes and bespoke personal training services for clients.

“I support people every day to achieve more than just their fitness goals but also help them to find ways to achieve a better quality of life overall. I have undertaken extensive specialist training and support any individual seeking to better their health.

“I have a unique and specialist interest in supporting those living with long-term health conditions such back pain, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease and support those with, weight challenges or those seeking better mental fitness.

“I am fortunate to have secured an additional role as a Health and Wellbeing coach for NHS patients and deliver the National Diabetes Prevention Programme to groups to empower and enable these patients to reach better physical and mental health.

“I am proud to be able to offer this service as it creates scalable impact and addresses an important health challenge whilst reinforcing my lifelong purpose to support those with poor health in their pursuit of better health.

Mr Collins is now training to be a life coach and is setting up a second business - Carey Phoenix Life Coaching – built on his core values and beliefs.

“I hope it inspires other small businesses in our area to achieve recognition for the hard work that they do to improve the life of others,” he said.

He’s now been invited to attend the grand final on Sunday, November 19 in Birmingham but needs your votes to win the national award.
