MORE than 3,000 people enjoyed a spectacular fireworks display in Bradford on Avon on Sunday evening (November 5).

Thousands turned out to watch the display at Poulton Park and didn’t let the rain dampen their enthusiasm.

They were able to enjoy a free-to-enter 15-minute display by Wiltshire-based Pains Fireworks organised by Bradford on Avon Town Council and costing £5,500.

A council spokesperson said: “Thank you to the thousands of people who came to see the fireworks at Poulton Park yesterday – it was amazing to see so many people there and the atmosphere was brilliant.

“We also want to thank you everyone who was involved with organising the event, too – and especially to the volunteer stewards who were there so everyone got to enjoy the display safely.

“There will be a short survey on our website asking some questions about the event. Your feedback is really important – and it helps us to plan big events like this for the town.

“And, last but not least, thank you to everyone who has emailed or commented on social media about how much they enjoyed it.”

The council was determined to make this year’s event succeed after thousands were left disappointed by last year’s display at Victory Field.

That event was marred by a combination of wet weather, a water-logged field the display itself being obscured by tall trees.
