A road running through the centre of Melksham is set to close for almost two weeks, which could have a knock-on effect on traffic.
Queensway in Melksham is set to close from Monday, November 20, until Friday, December 1, 2023, as the road undergoes major resurfacing works.
This closure poses a particular problem to parents in the area, as Queensway leads to both Queensway Chapel Nursery and Primrose Drive Play Area.
"It's going to be chaos. Not sure how people are going to get home if they live off of Queensway, as a lot of roads have no other access," commented resident Lynne Couch.
"It’s been a nightmare already for me getting Robyn to school and some days I've been going via Berryfields. This makes it much worse," added Anne Marie.

Queensway Chapel Nursery has let parents know about alternative parking.
The road closure may also affect access to Melksham Community Hospital.
Melksham Town Council have not given any information about alternative routes that motorists should take but has urged anyone who requires further information in advance of the works to contact Atkins on 01225 730 360.
