An ‘exceptional partnership with parents’ has helped a Trowbridge pre-school day nursery to secure its third ‘Outstanding’ rating from the education sector regulator Ofsted.

The ‘excellent’ team at Busy Bees Day Nursery in Hackett Place, Hilperton, was inspected by Ofsted on October 4 and has 121 children on the roll for 100 places.

It was rated ‘Outstanding’ across the board for the quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, leadership and management, and overall effectiveness.

The nursery received praise from families for making them feel ‘valued and very well supported’ as well as ensuring ‘their children thrive and make exceptional progress’.

Centre director Helen Nester said: “Securing our third Outstanding is a brilliant reward for our team, who are all dedicated to giving children the best start in life.

“We were particularly thrilled with the feedback from parents to the Ofsted inspectors, as we believe that collaborating with families is vital to consistently delivering a high-quality learning experience for our children.”

The Ofsted report outlines how children at Busy Bees Trowbridge ‘receive an excellent start to their early education’ from a ‘highly motivated team’ who ‘have the highest aspirations for them’.

A well-established ‘key person’ system creates ‘invaluable bonds with families’ and allows activities and teaching styles to be adapted to ‘specifically cater for the individual needs of each child’.

The ‘exceptional interactions’ of the nursery’s ‘professional, kind and dedicated staff’ deliver a diverse curriculum, creating ‘inspiring, meaningful activities for children’ that ‘keep them engaged and eager to learn’.

Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities receive excellent support at the nursery, the report said.

The manager and staff work closely with parents and outside agencies, using their ‘extensive knowledge’ to ensure children are well supported.
