A mobile healthcare clinic has opened in Trowbridge until January 30 and is inviting residents to come in and get themselves checked.

Our Future Health, the UK’s largest health research programme, opened the mobile clinic at the Tesco Express superstore in County Way, Trowbridge, as one of its new 11 locations this month.

Our Future Health aims to transform the prevention, detection and treatment of conditions such as dementia, cancer, diabetes, heart disease and stroke.

With up to five million volunteers across the UK, the goal is to create one of the most detailed pictures ever of people’s health.

Dr Raghib Ali, chief executive and chief medical officer of Our Future Health, said: “We want to help everyone to be able to live longer, healthier lives, so we need people of all ages and backgrounds, from every part of the country to take part.

“I hope that the local people of Trowbridge will take this unique opportunity to be part of a ground-breaking programme.”

At their clinic appointment, as well as having a blood sample and some physical measurements taken, volunteers will be offered information about their own health, including their blood pressure and cholesterol levels.

Anyone over the age of 18 can sign up online at ourfuturehealth.org.uk, completing an online health questionnaire, and booking their short clinic appointment.
