A fast food giant has responded after one of its busy Wiltshire branches was handed a new food hygiene rating.

The KFC restaurant on Bath Road, just off Chequers Roundabout in Chippenham, was visited by food hygiene inspectors on Wednesday, January 31.

The takeaway chain was handed a score of five-out-of-five following the checks, retaining the maximum rating that it had maintained since opening in 2021.

During their visit to the restaurant, inspectors judged the branch to be “very good” at handling food hygienically and managing food safety.

The business was also rated on the cleanliness and condition of its building and facilities and was scored as being “good” in this category.

KFC told this paper that staff at the Chippenham branch are an example of the strict processes in place to ensure “quality and hygiene” at their restaurants.

A spokesperson for the chain said: “We pride ourselves on operating responsibly and have strict processes in place to ensure the best quality and hygiene at all our restaurants.

“Our Chippenham restaurant is an egg-cellent example of the Colonel's finest after maintaining a 5-star food hygiene rating since opening in 2021.”
