Offices in a Grade II listed building in Chippenham’s town centre have reached a step closer to becoming new homes.

The offices at 56 and 57 Market Place have been unused since the Covid-19 pandemic when it became more cost-effective for the previous tenant to have their staff work from home.

In June 2023, Wiltshire Council granted permission for the offices to be transformed into three flats.  

The number of flats has since been altered after another application was submitted in December 2023 that proposed an additional dwelling.

This has now been approved by Wiltshire Council.

The applicant has stated that the new flats will not alter the exterior appearance of the Grade II listed building.
