Wiltshire Police has issued an update after two crashes closed a major road outside of Bradford on Avon on Sunday.

The crash, which took place at around 8.30am on March 3 on the A363, saw two cars and a motorbike involved in separate crashes.

The road was closed for three hours.

Officers from Wiltshire Police’s Road Policing Unit attended the scene near Cumberwell Golf Course and warned motorists to beware of icy roads, which are believed to have caused the crash.

"We attended a road traffic collision on the A363 at Sally in the Wood, north of Bradford-on-Avon at about 8.30am today (03/03),” said a spokesperson for Wiltshire Police.

"The roads are extremely icy due to recent rainfall and freezing temperatures. Please adjust your speed despite the clear, sunny conditions."

Officers confirmed that the two cars and a motorbike were involved in separate incidents, and the motorbike was later photographed lying sideways across the middle of the road meters from where ambulances attended the scene.

No serious injuries were sustained and no arrests have been made.

The closed road, which had caused three hours of delays and backed up traffic near Bradford on Avon, was reopened at around 11.20am on Sunday morning.
