The family of a woman who died following a fatal collision near Ashton Keynes have described her as having an “effervescent soul”. 

The family of Danielle Stevens, 29, have named her following the four-vehicle collision on the B4696, Braydon Road on the afternoon of Friday, March 15.

Emergency services attended the incident, but Danielle was pronounced dead at the scene. 

In a statement, her family said: "On Friday, March 15 2024, our beautiful girl Danielle (Dannii) lost her life in a road collision, and we are truly devastated.

"We are lost and broken beyond words, as are Dannii’s gorgeous girls who have lost their amazing Mummy.

"Dannii was such a kind, caring and effervescent soul and brought all our lives into glorious technicolour.

"Dannii leaves an extensive family and many friends, too many to mention, and we ask for privacy in our grief as we try and come to terms with this tragic loss and shock.

"As a family, we wish to thank everyone for the outpouring of love, kind words and support which is giving us strength at this difficult time.

"We love you Princess - sweet dreams xx."

The B4696 Braydon Road, near Lydiard Plains was closed in both directions at around 2.15pm on Friday afternoon after emergency services were called to the crash. 

Witnesses reported seeing an air ambulance attend, and it was initially believed that several people had been hurt in the incident. 

Wiltshire Police provided an update the following day, confirming that one of the drivers, Danielle, had lost her life. 

A spokesperson for the police said: "The driver of one of the vehicles, a woman in her 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

"Her next of kin have been informed and our thoughts are with them at this incredibly difficult time."

The crash involved four vehicles, and two others were taken to hospital to be treated for injuries not thought to be life-threatening.

The road remained closed for several hours with officers from Wiltshire Police carrying out traffic investigation work but reopened on Friday evening/Saturday morning. 

The force is now looking for any witnesses who can help them with their investigation.
