An Audi driver has been arrested for a string of offences after failing to stop for police on the M4 in Wiltshire.

Road Policing Units from Wiltshire Police tried to pull over a car on the M4, shortly before midnight on Friday, April 12, when the driver allegedly failed to stop.

Officers gave chase and the car left the M4 at junction 17, near Chippenham, where it was pictured on the roundabout near the exit for the new St Modwen Logistics site.

The driver was eventually stopped and detained before being arrested on suspicion of multiple offences.

These included failing to stop for police, dangerous driving, driving while disqualified, driving while unfit through drink or drugs, possession of cannabis, possession of cocaine, and breach of court bail.

The driver was taken into custody.

A spokesperson for the force said: “One in the cells for Road Policing Unit after this Audi failed to stop on the M4 last night.”
