WILTSHIRE duet Morales and Watts are celebrating the release of their first EP with a launch party later this month.

The launch for the record, which is called Image of The Quarange Tree, will take place at the Piano Bar in Frome on August 22.

Singer/songwriter Leander Morales, 30, from Westbury and guitarist/songwriter Jon Watts, 23, from Easterton near Devizes, have been working together for three years.

In that time they have supported artists such as Spencer Davis, The Blockheads, The Stranglers, Cara Dillon and Fairport Convention.

Their EP features members from Bradford on Avon band BlackBud with Sam Nadel recording the record and playing percussion, Adam Newton playing double bass, Patrick Dunn on viola and violin and Beth Porter on cello.

Mr Morales said: "It was an honour to work with professional artists during this recording. We are overwhelmed with the result and look forward to touring later this year. The musicians on the recording have delivered to a high standard and I think the general public will like the result.

"I would like to play the Trowbridge Village Pump Festival next year because my mum played it in 1978 when she was pregnant with me."

Morales/Watts will perform at The Rock n Roots Festival in Rye Meadows, near Ledbury, Herefordshire, on August 24 and at the Cheese and Grain in Market Yard, Frome, on August 28, supporting African band Tinariwen.
