Police raided a Wiltshire home and arrested a suspected drug dealer.

Officers in Mere carried out a drug warrant on Wednesday morning after receiving information from the public about suspicious activity at a property.

They broke down the door and searched the house, then arrested a man on his 20s on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of class B drugs, theft of two motor vehicles and theft of a bank card.

Wiltshire Police shared dramatic footage of the raid on social media.

A/Sgt Tom Newman said: "We know that the fallout and impact of drugs in the community is a huge problem.

"At the moment we are seeing a lot of artificial and synthetic drugs coming onto the market which are not regulated, not tested, and have a huge detrimental effect on people's health.

"Dealing with that is absolutely important because we're taking a potentially toxic or poisonous substance out of circulation.

"We've also got the situation where the owner of the property isn't actually doing the dealing or involved in drugs themselves.

"This is our opportunity to get in there and safeguard vulnerable members of society.

"We can't achieve this without your help. We get intel from you and without that intel, we are not able to get the warrant to execute it and have a successful result."
