The following cases were heard at magistrates courts in Swindon and Salisbury.

DEVIZES: On Monday, June 3, Marcus Pockock, of Caen Hill Gardens, was sentenced for trespassing with intent to steal and four counts of theft from a shop.

The 49-year-old pleaded guilty to four counts of theft from a shop and entering the Lamb Inn, in Devizes, as a trespasser with intent to steal, on April 4.

Between February and March, Pocock stole six bottles of vodka, a bottle of whiskey, a bottle of gin, a pack of toilet rolls, two bottles of Jack Daniels and a newspaper from Sainsbury’s, and £21 worth of items from Holland and Barrett.

He also pleaded guilty to failing to surrender to custody at the appointed time.

Pocock was jailed for 26 weeks and ordered to pay £271.10 in compensation.

BEMERTON HEATH: On Monday, June 3, Paige Davis, of Woodside Road, was sentenced for assaulting three emergency workers and other offences.

The 20-year-old pleaded guilty to assaulting a Police Constable and an Escort Officer by beating them at Salisbury on March 27.

She also pleaded guilty to assaulting a Police Constable in Devizes, during a separate incident on April 7.

Davis also pleaded guilty to two counts of causing criminal damage on the same night by urinating on the rear seat of a Wiltshire Police vehicle, and damaging a separate police vehicle.

 She was also guilty of being drunk and disorderly on London Road.

Davis has been hit with a community order lasting until December, 2025, and fined £90.

She must undergo alcohol treatment for six months.

DEVIZES: On Monday, June 3, Joshua Abada, of West View Crescent, was sentenced for four counts of theft from a shop.

The 37-year-old pleaded guilty to all four counts and one count of failing to surrender to custody.

Between March and May, he stole two crates of beer, four bottles of gin, and other items valuing £123.21 from Sainsbury’s, and £100 worth of meat from Morrisons.

Abada was jailed for eight weeks and ordered to pay a total of £575.21 in compensation.

TROWBRIDGE:  On Monday, June 3, Thomas McCombe, of Ferris Way in Hilperton, was sentenced for owning or being in charge of a dog that caused injury while out of control.

The 72-year-old pleaded guilty to owning a German Shepard mix mongrel, named Abner, when it was dangerously out of control in Trowbridge and injured a woman during a “serious attack.”

The court ordered that the dog, which may currently be advertised under another name after being returned to a dog centre, is destroyed.

McCombe was fined £309 and ordered to pay £600 in compensation.

CHIPPENHAM: On Monday, June 3, James Owen, of Kings Avenue, was sentenced for driving a motor vehicle while above the legal alcohol limit.

The 27-year-old pleaded guilty to driving a Citroen car on Newcroft Road, in Calne, while the proportion of alcohol in his breath was 61 microgrammes per 100 millilitres, on June 29 last year.

He was disqualified from driving for 46 months, fined £120, and ordered to pay £85 in costs.

MARLBOROUGH: On Tuesday, June 4, Jamie Walters, of Amber Court in Swindon, was sentenced for driving while above the legal alcohol limit and while above the legal limit for a controlled drug.

The 21-year-old pleaded guilty to driving a Volkswagen Polo, on Orchard Road in Marlborough, after consuming enough alcohol that the proportion of alcohol in his blood 115 milligrammes per 100 millilitres.

He also pleaded guilty to having 169 microgrammes of controlled drug Benzoylecgonine per litre of blood in his system.

Walters was ordered to abstain from alcohol for 120 days and disqualified from driving for three years.
