THIS West Clubs' Wessex Division Two game saw play ebbing and flowing between the two sides.

Chippenham started strongly, controlling the game from the initial pushback.

Ellena Farrow was able to take advantage of her speed and moved through the centre to break down the Mendip midfield.

Taking the ball into the D, Mary Derrick won a series of short corners, but Chippenham were not able to turn chances into goals.

A break from Mendip put pressure on Sian Rhys-Price in the Chippenham goal but Hannah Cox was able to steal the ball and drive forward. Mendip broke again but Suzy Stubbs regained possession and cleared from defence to Flo Chapple.

She drove forward, putting pressure on the Mendip defence.

But Mendip turned defence into attack and took the lead just on the half-time whistle.

After the break, Chippenham continued to battle and managed to level the match within minutes, Sunniva Petersen slotting home from a well-worked short corner.

Mendip fought back with Cara Smith clearing off the line.

Kate Potter and Zoe Carwardine combined well to keep up Chippenham’s attacks and Leigh Page did well in the midfield, feeding Ann Morgan.
