Creative pupils at Dilton Marsh Primary School near Westbury held a festive competition yesterday to make decorations for the school’s Christmas tree.

The judges, the Lord Lieutenant of Wiltshire, John Bush, and Wiltshire Councillor Katrina Kulanski, picked six winners from 70 entrants, one from each class in the school.

The newly-decorated tree will be on display tomorrow from 6pm to 8pm during the school’s Christmas fair.

Each class has set up a stall and made things to sell in it, and will be able to spend the money they collect on their classroom.

Visitors to the fair can take part in raffles and competitions, visit local craft stalls and meet Father Christmas.

Headmistress Judith Finney said: “There has been a great response from the children in making their tree decorations.

“I am sure they will look fantastic on the tree.”
