Volunteer Kim Goodridge is appealing for somebody to house her hedgehog ‘chalet’ as she aims to carry on her work despite moving to a smaller home.

The 71-year-old has been looking after animals for many years, and over the past five has been taking in sick and injured hedgehogs which live in the chalet in her garden.

However, she is looking to move from the three bedroom property she rents from the Neston Park Estate to a smaller home in Corsham.

She said: “I have put forward an application to Westlea Housing Association and I’m not sure when I will move, but I need to find somewhere for the hedgehog chalet to go as I want to carry on looking after them.”

The chalet, which is carpeted with windows and curtains, is 13ft by 8ft and contains four hedgehog hutches.

She said: “The number of hedgehogs I have at any one time can vary, at the minute I have a lot of late babies coming in who are struggling to find food.

“It is important for me to do this as they need looking after whether they have been injured or are babies that have been abandoned.”

Anyone who thinks they could keep the chalet in their garden or on their land, where Ms Goodridge could visit it, can call 01225 773643.
